Our Fleet
At Okauchee Lake Sailing School, we use a variety of boats to teach sailing fundamentals and racing skills. Each fleet offers unique learning opportunities and is matched to sailors based on age, size, and experience.
Optimist Dinghy (Opti)
The Opti is the world’s most popular youth training boat and the foundation of our Learn 2 Sail and Learn 2 Race programs. Small, stable, and easy to handle, it’s perfect for sailors ages 7–13 under ~120 lbs.

Opti Resources
X-Boat
The X-Boat is a two-person dinghy that introduces teamwork, communication, and more advanced sailing skills. Stable yet fast, it’s the next step for sailors graduating from Optis or beginning around age 10.

MC Scow
